The Carignano del Sulcis “Is Solus” is a fruity red wine from Sardinia, made from bush-trained, ungrafted vines from the Island of Sant’Antioco and vinified only in steel. It is immediate, fresh, pleasant, and convivial, characterized by aromas of red fruit and Mediterranean scrub.

The Carignano del Sulcis "Is Solus" by Sardus Pater is born from the winery's desire – supported by the great winemaker Riccardo Cotarella – to enhance the Carignano grape. We are therefore faced with a bottle that tells the story of the territory, characterized by a fresh, Mediterranean soul – it feels like breathing in the scrub that paints the coasts of Sant’Antioco – and fruity, driven by a process carried out exclusively in steel. A bottle that is always easy to drink, revealing the more "slender" side of Carignano.

“Is Solus” by Sardus Pater is a Carignano del Sulcis that comes from ungrafted vines cultivated on the island of Sant’Antioco, with an average age of about seventy years. The plants grow using the bush vine system in sandy soil, and among the rows, the yield per hectare never exceeds 35 quintals. The manual harvest takes place during the fourth week of September, and the must obtained from the gentle pressing of the grapes ferments in stainless steel containers, where the

malolactic fermentation. It then continues with the final aging phase, during which the wine rests for several months in steel.

Carignano “Is Solus” signed by Sardus Pater presents itself to the eye with a ruby red color endowed with a particular concentration. It is the fruit that opens the dance of notes surrounding the nose, enriched by spicy touches and references to the Mediterranean scrub typical of Sardinia. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with a broad and enveloping sip that does not skimp on softness. A label whose name recalls that of the splendid fountain of Roman origin present in the historic center of the municipality of Sant’Antioco and which, graphically, pays homage to the mosaic found in the archaeological museum of the town. Territory, art, and wine, what more could you want?
