The Cà dei Frati winery is an inescapable wine reference point in the Lake Garda area, a production reality of great quality since 1939 that has acquired, over the years, a great reputation all over the world collecting awards and important recognitions. Its name manifests the strong connection with the tradition of the Sirmione area and Lugana wine. In fact, at one time the entire Lugana area of Sirmione, where beautiful vineyards now stand, was known as "luogo dei fratti" because it was owned by the bishop's curia, and a document from 1782 testifies that wine was already being produced here at that time.

Cà dei Frati was born from the passion of the Dal Cero family, which has always been able to combine competence and love for the territory at its best. The founder of the family was Felice dal Cero who, sensing the high wine vocation of the area, bought several lands in Lugana di Sirmione in 1939, turning them into vineyards. After thirty years of work, his son Pietro dal Cero bottled the first Lugana, a wine that would make the fortune of the Dal Cero family, and contributed significantly to the birth of the DOC. Over the years, crowned by great successes, the Dal Cero family has expanded its production, and in addition to Lugana, which has become among the most sought-after Italian whites in the world, it offers elegant and expressive sparkling versions, an important passito, top red wines and even grappas. The recent purchase of a vineyard in Valpolicella, in addition to signifying a sort of return to the origins of the family of ancient Veronese origin, has enabled the range to be expanded.

Cà dei Frati has thus been able to carve out a leading role for itself and extend its name first throughout Italy and then the world. The skilful balance between a decades-long tradition and a constant ambition to improve has allowed it to grow year after year without ever losing the close and deep connection with the territory that has always characterized this family business. With such an important history behind them and a first-rate expertise, Cà dei Frati wines remain an obligatory and unavoidable step for every good drinker: minerality, body, freshness and fullness of fruit.
