The Franz Haas winery has been producing wine since 1880, for about 7 generations, making it one of the most important and oldest wineries in the South Tyrol region. Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Gewurztraminer are the most widely cultivated white grape varieties in the 55 hectares of vineyards and produce wines of outstanding value, perfectly representing the potential of the terroir. Franz Haas does not only produce white wines: Lagrein and Pinot Noir, together with Merlot and the special Moscato Rosa, complete a successful range of red grape varieties that best reflect the character and personality of this Alpine region. Franz Haas's true passion lies in his boundless love for Pinot Noir, a grape variety that is as demanding as it is exciting, and which requires meticulous care in order to express all its class and refinement. Indeed, the "Schweizer" Pinot Noir line is only produced in the most advantageous vintages. In short, this is a great winery and a point of reference for the entire South Tyrolean wine scene.

The Franz Haas winery has vineyards extending from altitudes of 400 metres up to peaks of 1150 metres where Pinot Noir vines are planted. With such a vast expanse of cultivated land, a great diversity of climate and soil morphology ensues, ranging from layers of profiric sand to clay and limestone. The vines are cared for with the utmost respect for the environment and grow in an area where intervention is kept to a minimum. This is the only way that each bottle can trigger great emotions and evoke memories of this unique land and its fresh, pure mountain scents. The beautiful and colourful labels are designed by the famous artist Riccardo Schweizer.

Franz Haas is renowned not only for being a pioneer in systematic cultivation at high altitudes, but also for sealing his bottles with screw caps. A choice that was neither easy nor economical. However, it is a choice of quality to guarantee a wine that is not altered by the cork and that can be stored for longer - because yes, wine also matures and ages with screw caps - thanks to the reduced permeability of this type of seal, which can also be "adapted and modified" according to the type of wine. With passion and a perfectionist spirit, the owner, assisted by his wife Maria Luisa, devotes himself every day to the production of quality wines, whose reputation is acknowledged throughout Italy. This is how the winery has managed to carve out a leading role for itself over the decades, through hard work and careful attention to detail. Today, only in this way is it possible to experience an elegant, pure and precise wine in the glass, capable of evoking emotions and expressing its own style, which can be easily summed up in just two words: Franz Haas.
