Pinot Grigio Franz Haas 2025
The Pinot Grigio from the Franz Haas winery is a white wine with an excellent quality-price ratio perfect for pairing with grilled fish or vegetable-based dishes. It is made with carefully selected grapes of the same name and aged for 4 months exclusively in steel tanks and in small quantities in barriques. The intense straw yellow color introduces floral notes and a refreshing sip.
The Pinot Grigio produced by the South Tyrolean winery Franz Haas is a fresh and harmonious white, which faithfully reflects the typical profile of this famous French grape variety. Thanks to its success in the main international markets, particularly in the United States, Pinot Grigio is experiencing a moment of great popularity among enthusiasts worldwide. It conquers the palate with its particularly rich and gentle aromas, for a sip broad, soft, and of good taste complexity, making it easy and pleasantly satisfying. In South Tyrol, its varietal characteristics are made even more elegant thanks to the typical mineral freshness derived from the alpine terroir.
The Pinot Grigio wine is the fruit of the experience of a historic winery in the area, which has been producing wine for seven generations. Franz Haas has been one of the architects of the rebirth of South Tyrolean wine and has distinguished himself for high-quality production. The estate extends over about 55 hectares, with high-quality plots located in various areas of the Lower Atesina. The Pinot Grigio grapes come from vineyards cultivated in a hilly area with an altitude ranging from 350 to 800 meters above sea level with a south and southwest exposure. The soils are very suitable, with clay and silt present, generated by the disintegration of rocks in the area. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, except for a small quantity that ferments directly in barrique. The wine ages for four months on the lees, partly in steel and partly in wood.
The Pinot Grigio from Franz Haas is a masterful interpretation of the grape variety and the territory. It transparently represents the style of a winery that has always worked to highlight the excellence of a high-value vineyard. Of a beautiful rather intense light yellow color, it expresses a particularly rich and expressive aromatic palette, with notes of white peach, pear, apple, hints of citrus, nuances of aromatic and floral herbs. On the palate, it is enveloping and satisfying, with dense and persistent aromas that stretch towards a long and harmonious finish.
