Bonnaire
The Maison Bonnaire is located in the Grand Cru of Cramant, in the heart of the Cote de Blancs, an extraordinarily suited territory for the cultivation of Chardonnay, which here reaches the peak of elegance for Champagne production. Founded in 1932, the maison has developed a remarkable savoir-faire that, for almost a century of its history, has been passed down from father to son. The founder was Fernand Bouquemont, great-grandfather of the current owners, who, during a period of economic crisis in the region, inaugurated the production activity to avoid having to sell the family vineyards. A few decades later, his son-in-law André Bonnaire, assisted by his son Jean-Louis, refined the production style starting in the '60s. The family's bet has been won and today, after decades of passion, sacrifices, and hard work, these efforts have been richly rewarded and the maison's style has reached a technical perfection that has allowed the creation of cuvées appreciated around the world.
Bonnaire is now in the hands of the fourth family generation, which has successfully continued the activity of its predecessors, obtaining important recognitions. The owned vineyard, divided into several plots, extends overall for 22 hectares and is located, for the most part, in the Grand Cru of Cramant. Some plots are also found in the Grand Crus of Chouilly and Oiry and in the Premier Crus of Cuis and Bergères-Les-Vertus. While the plots of the Cote des Blancs are mostly cultivated with Chardonnay, those that extend into the Vallée de la Marne are cultivated solely with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
The Champagnes Bonnaire express the charm and crystalline elegance of the Cote de Blancs and other important crus of the region. Minerality and freshness combine with the typical creaminess of Chardonnay in impeccable and very pleasant tasting experiences, sought after by enthusiasts all over the world.
