Anna Krasna Hora 2022
Artisanal
Organic and biodynamicAnna sparkling wine from the Krasna Hora winery is a handcrafted bubbly from the Czech Republic that is perfect for those with a desire for lightness. It is made from a blend of Riesling and Sauvignon blanc macerated on the skins for 3 weeks and re-fermented in the bottle. The vivid golden yellow colour lights up the glass while exotic aromas and herbaceous sesations accompany an explosion of freshness
Krasna Hora produces "Anna" within its range of labels dedicated to the faces of the protagonists of the winery, dedicating this ancestral method to the daughter of the winemaker Ondřej Dubas. A reinterpretation of the family's historical varieties to demonstrate that grapes with high aromatic potential can interact very well together, through a long maceration on the skins.
“Anna” is the Pet-Nat that Krasna Hora produces by vinifying the white grape varieties Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from the estate parcels surrounding the village of Stary Poddvorov, in the immediate vicinity of the winery. On the gentle slopes facing south and southwest, at an altitude of around 200 meters above sea level, the vines dwell on poor soils characterized by loess, a sandy sediment composed of various pulverized minerals. The climate is cold continental: the South Moravian region is a stone's throw from the border with Slovakia, at the same latitude as the Lower Rhine department in Alsace. The agronomic management is entrusted to organic practices and biodynamic principles: the harvest is carried out manually and the operations in the winery proceed without invasive interventions. The alcoholic fermentation is entrusted solely to indigenous yeasts and the contact with the skins lasts for 3 weeks: the wine is then bottled before the complete exhaustion of the sugars, in order to resume fermentation in the bottle according to the ancestral method. No filtration, nor clarification or stabilization are carried out during the processes.
“Anna” by Krasna Hora presents a typical cloudy appearance and a bright golden yellow color, immediately appreciable from the transparent bottle. The nose is sharp and quite articulated on crunchy herbaceous tones and exotic fruit, with a delicate aromaticity brought by floral notes of white petals. The sip is dynamic with a lively and very fine effervescence and recalls a noticeable fleshiness from maceration: juicy and extremely drinkable, it runs on taut freshness and finishes distinctly dry and clean. A Pet-Nat that serves as character aperitif or to pair with rustic dishes based on white meats and vegetables.
