It is made from carefully hand-selected pure Trebbiano grapes and vinified using only indigenous yeasts; refermentation takes place in the bottle. The Sparkling White ‘ACDT’ from Cantina Margò is a bottle-fermented wine with a funky personality that is appreciated for its ability to combine drinkability with a certain concentration. We are in the Case Nuove district, in the province of Perugia, an area where in 2008 the Umbrian winemaker Carlo Tabarrini started his winemaking activity, dedicating the name of the winery to his firstborn daughter Margherita, nicknamed Margò. The ampelographic platform of the estate, which today comprises approximately 3 hectares of vineyards, is reserved for traditional Umbrian grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Trebbiano, and Grechetto. The name ‘ACDT’ represents a distortion of the name of the famous Australian hard rock band AC/DC in an “acid” key, alluding to the English term “acidity.”
Cantina Margò Sparkling White ‘ACDT’ is made exclusively from sustainably grown Trebbiano grapes on a soil primarily composed of marls. After manual harvesting, the bunches are transferred to the winery for the destemming followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine is bottled and added with fresh must obtained from a portion of grapes left to dry, thus achieving bottle fermentation.
In appearance, ‘ACDT’ Cantina Margò Sparkling White expresses a bright straw yellow hue. The aromatic spectrum is lively and delicate with hints of yellow-fleshed fruit, citrus, and wildflowers that meet pleasant herbal sensations. The taste stands out for its crispness and energy, as well as for its funky character and excellent balance between agile freshness and satisfying softness. The light finish lingers on citrus perceptions consistent with the nose.
