Bianco 'Glu Glu' Cantina Giardino
Artisanal
Exclusive winery
Unusual grapes"Glu Glu" is a juicy and dynamic white wine produced by Cantina Giardino, an artisanal reality of the Irpinian territory. It shows a veiled golden yellow color, due to the few months of contact with the skins, with an aromatic profile of citrus zest, herbs and savory sensations. The palate is pleasant and direct, with a lashing freshness and an integrated acetic note!
“Glu Glu” is a name that says it all: Cantina Giardino creates a compulsive interpretation of one of the most characteristically deep white grape varieties of the Irpinia territory, historically native to the Campania region. The low alcohol content and the complete absence of synthetic products make this white particularly dynamic and of great aromatic impact.
Cantina Giardino produces its “Glu Glu” through the most natural possible processing of the typical white grape variety of the territory, grown within the owned plots in the northern area of the province of Avellino. Spanning a total of about 7 hectares, they are divided into numerous parcels, scattered within the areas of different municipalities. Daniela and Antonio De Gruttola have worked extensively to preserve the old plants of the area and compose their own mosaic of vines, which now reach ages between 50 and 100 years, all cultivated according to the rules of organic farming. This White could represent a unique project, as it comes from the fruits of a plot located in Montemarano that could not be harvested in time, due to three uninterrupted weeks of rainy weather. The manual harvest could only take place on November 9, and all that water miraculously turned into a delicious wine: 5 days of maceration on the skins and spontaneous fermentation by only indigenous yeasts. The aging on the fine lees lasts for several months in fiberglass, and the bottling does not involve clarifications, filtrations, or additions of sulfur.
“Glu Glu” by Cantina Giardino is a white that strikes the eye thanks to its intense and luminous color, all centered on the brightness of yellow. The aromas are penetrating and straightforward, dynamic between tropical and citrus fruit and light floral notes, with a slight honeyed nuance and accompaniment of ripe white pulp. Crunchy on the palate, it unfolds with immense freshness and distinctly citrus hints. Its drinkability makes it perfect for both the summer aperitifsummer, as well as for the spring snack.
