The structure maintains elegance and power, complexity and intensity, with an long finish
Boca is an absolutely unique wine, thanks mainly to the climatic characteristics of this land, capable of producing unmistakable wines with a strong character, great elegance and finesse, complex in aroma and taste.
The wine's name comes from the northeasternmost and highest wine-growing area in Piedmont, in the province of Novara, nestled between the Sesia Valley and Lake Orta. Following the industrialization of the last century, the Boca wine-growing area was forgotte , as both labor and investment had found new priorities in the tertiary sector. It was thanks to Alexander Trolf, an oenologist, and Christoph Kunzil, a wine importer, that this region regained its former glory; founders of the Le Piane winery, they contributed to the revival of this land that is truly unique for the quality of its wines and the beauty of its landscape, nestled in the woods of the Monte Fenera Nature Park.
The combination of soil and microclimate is the fortune of the Boca DOC area: the gravelly soil on the surface is unique in Italy, while the mild climate of the Pre-Alps, with warm, fog-free autumns, favors the perfect ripening of the grapes. Particularly fundamental to the success of Boca are the minerality of the soil and the elegant structure of Nebbiolo, which guarantee a full and expressive wine.
