Bonarda 'Emma' Familia Zuccardi 2018
Bonarda 'Emma' from the Argentine winery Familia Zuccardi is a juicy and fresh red wine perfect for drinking with a platter of cured meats or during meat barbecues. This bottle is made from carefully selected pure grapes of the same name and matured for a few months in cement tanks. The bright ruby red colour introduces aromas of red fruits and flowers while the palate enjoys a balanced, drinkable sip
The Bonarda "Emma" by Familia Zuccardi originates in Argentina near Mendoza. The winery is family-run: in 1960, Alberto Zuccardi decided to purchase the first hectares of land to dedicate to vines near Maipú, quickly becoming one of the most important quality activities in the area. The architecture of the winery aligns with a work philosophy that respects the ecosystem surrounding the vine: it is built entirely with natural materials, stone and concrete walls to facilitate the processing of the grapes. Today, Sabastián Zuccardi represents the third generation and manages the family business preserving the tradition passed down to him, while making everything future-oriented and sustainable.
The grapes of the Bonarda "Emma" by Familia Zuccardi grow in a cool and ventilated climate, characterized by constant temperature fluctuations that ensure a complete ripening of the grapes; the mountain ranges of the Andes near the beautiful The Uco Valley protects the rows from cold winds or sudden frosts, ensuring good climatic stability for wines of excellent quality. The vineyards are located about 1000 meters above sea level on sandy, stony soils with a good presence of limestone, suitable for the cultivation of indigenous red grape varieties and for wines with a strong character. Once the grape harvest is completed, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occurs in concrete, followed by aging always in concrete for a few months before being bottled.
