The Bonarda lively from Giorgi is a sparkling red wine from Oltrepò with great freshness and culinary versatility. Juicy, straightforward, dry, and bursting with energy and cheer, it is enveloped in a pleasant symphony of notes of red fruit, marasca, and almond
The Bonarda Frizzante from Oltrepò Pavese produced by the Giorgi winery is appreciated for its fruity and lively taste, of remarkable immediacy. The name Bonarda is attributed to the wine made in Oltrepò Pavese with Croatina grapes, traditionally offered in a sparkling version. It seems that Croatina has been present in the Oltrepò Pavese area since the Middle Ages, always valued particularly for the notable resistance of the vine to oidium, a fungus responsible for one of the most widespread and feared diseases of the vine.
Giorgi Bonarda Frizzante from Oltrepò Pavese originates from only hand-picked Croatina grapes collected during the second decade of September. In the winery, the bunches undergo the operation of crushing and destemming, followed by the alcoholic fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled automated fermenters, where the skin maceration lasts for 8-10 days at a temperature of 28-30 °C. This is followed by the complete malolactic fermentation and aging of about 6 months always in steel at controlled temperature before the final bottling and commercialization.
The color of Giorgi's Bonarda Frizzante from Oltrepò Pavese is intense ruby red with violet hues. On the nose, distinct aromas of fresh fruit such as sour cherry and black currant are perceived, combined with hints of almond and aromatic herbs. The taste is dry, dynamic, and lively, with the juicy freshness that combines with non-overpowering tannins in a seductive finish of good fruity persistence. Thanks to its accessible and convivial character, this Bonarda Frizzante represents the right choice for carefree moments, especially when paired with rustic cakes or platters of not overly aged cheeses and cured meats.
