Brunello di Montalcino "Cielo d'Ulisse" of Podere le Ripi is an important Tuscan red wine that ages for 36 months in large oak barrels. It shows an intense garnet red color and expresses the aromatic traits typical of the grapes that make it, namely the Sangiovese Grosso: hints of blackberries, raspberries and plums are accompanied by hints of undergrowth and balsamic puffs, revealing at the mouthfeel freshness and vibrant tannins accompanied by a rich fruity succulence.

The Brunello di Montalcino “Cielo d’Ulisse” by Podere Le Ripi is an elegant expression of one of the most renowned wine regions in Tuscany. Produced in the heart of the soft hills of Val d’Orcia, it is a wine of great character and elegance, which encapsulates the history of one of the most beautiful and historic vineyards in Italy, made by a biodynamic winery that has made respect for the environment and the territory its production philosophy.

The Sangiovese grapes, the only grape variety used for the production of this wine from Podere Le Ripi, are hand-harvested around the second half of September and immediately taken to the winery, where they are vinified in steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place with the help of indigenous yeasts. During maceration, daily pump-overs are performed to ensure a delicate and quality aromatic extraction. After about 20 days of maceration, the wine is racked into large oak barrels where, as tradition dictates, it is left to rest and evolve for the next 36 months before being bottled.

The long aging in wood of Podere Le Ripi “Cielo d’Ulisse” gives it its unmistakable color: a clear red with brick hues. On the nose, a wide and complex bouquet emerges with delicate notes of vanilla and tobacco leaf. The entry on the palate is of great personality: linear, precise, with an elegant and non-intrusive tannin framing an aromatic picture of berries, sour cherries, and a balsamic and fresh finish. A bottle with a powerful and decisive structure, which pairs divinely with game dishes, first courses with meat-based sauces, and aged cheeses. A long-lived label, to be opened immediately or to be kept in the cellar to be surprised by the constant evolution that a great Brunello can give.
