Callmewine's Favourites
Organic and biodynamic"Ciliegio" is a Brunello di Montalcino of great body and elegance that comes from a small and vocated plot that gives its name to the wine. It matures in tonneaux for 3 years and offers a rich and complex aromatic profile to the nose, composed of notes of ripe dark fruit, spirit-soaked cherry, evolved sensations of spices, wood toasting, and coffee. “Ciliegio” is the most important Brunello di Montalcino produced by the La Magia estate. It poetically takes its name from one of the two cherry trees that delimit the oldest area of the vineyard, a majestic tree that can be spotted from a long distance. The aging, which develops over 36 months, takes place in 500-liter French oak tonneaux, mostly new and 20% second passage. Bottling occurs at the beginning of the fourth year following the harvest and inaugurates a period of 6 months of final resting in the cellar.
