In the olfactory examination, evolved notes of red fruit, spicy hints, and toasted memories stand out, while in the taste-olfactory examination, an intense, powerful, and harmonious texture emerges, with a good tannic structure and long persistence.
The Brunello di Montalcino presents itself with an absolutely classic, round, and harmonious sip, endowed with strength and robustness, which however combines with these characteristics a remarkable elegance in the aromas, where ripe fruit and spices dance harmoniously with each other. A label that tells the thought, passion, and production philosophy of Fabio Giannetti, a young winemaker who, with the La Fornace winery, has decided to venture into the creation of labels where quality is always the starting point.
This Brunello di Montalcino is made from a great grape variety, which in these areas is able to express itself at very high levels, the Sangiovese. The grapes come from vines whose average age is between 16 and 35 years, cultivated in vineyards at about 400 meters above sea level, with a northeast exposure. The bunches, carefully selected during the harvest phase, once collected are immediately brought to the winery; here they undergo alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in steel. Then follows the aging phase,carried out for 80% of the mass in large barrels and for the remaining 20% in barriques, for a total of 36 months.
The Brunello di Montalcino from La Fornace is a red wine that, in the glass, takes on an intense color reminiscent of ruby, with some slight garnet hues. The nose is decidedly deep, enveloped by a range of notes of ripe fruit and sweet spices. On the palate, it is of excellent body, robust, balanced, with a broad sip that warms the palate, and that offers a finish with almost infinite persistence. The La Fornace winery presents us with an engaging bottle, within which are enclosed the life and dedication that Fabio Giannetti pours daily into his vineyards.
