Tenuta San Giorgio's Brunello di Montalcino 'Ugolforte' is an elegant and profound wine. It is produced in the hills of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level on poor, rocky soils. The winery operates organically with low yields to obtain greater aromatic extraction from the grapes. The wine takes its name from the bandit Ugolforte who, in the 12th century, led the inhabitants of Montalcino against the occupation of the city of Siena. The bouquet is complex with notes of dark fruit, floral hints, balsamic scents and spicy hints on the finish. The palate is full, full-bodied and persistent with a dense tannic texture and a savoury finish. Excellent paired with a venison stew and wild berries
