Campo del Noce' Pievalta 2020
Organic and biodynamic
Perfect to drink every dayThe “Campo del Noce” by Pievalta is a red wine from the Marche region based on Montepulciano, vinified and aged for 12 to 18 months in steel. It has aromas of red flowers, Mediterranean scrub, sour cherries, aromatic herbs, pepper, and coffee. The taste is round, slender, fresh, pleasant, and flavorful, with fine tannins.
The “Campo del Noce” from the Pievalta winery is a red wine immediate, fresh, and slightly spicy produced in Maiolati Spontini, in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. This label is made from pure Montepulciano grapes sourced from a single vineyard, about 1.5 hectares in size, located in Maiolati Spontini on the left bank of the Esino River and surrounded by Verdicchio vines. The vines are trained using the trellis method with guyot pruning on soils characterized by clay-limestone. The winery, owner of about 27 hectares of vineyards, is a young and interesting reality acquired in 2002 by Barone Pizzini and biodynamically run since 2005, now under the guidance of the young Milanese winemaker Alessandro Fenino.
The wine “Campo del Noce” by Pievalta is produced with carefully selected grapes harvested by hand at the moment of their perfect ripeness. The bunches, brought to the winery, are gently crushed and destemmed before undergoing alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers with frequent daily pump-overs and a maceration on the skinsof about two weeks. Subsequently, the wine is racked, with pressing of the skins, after which the wine remains in aging in stainless steel containers for at least 12-18 months before being bottled and finally ready for sale.
The red “Campo del Noce” by Pievalta presents itself with a beautiful deep ruby red color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe red fruit and berries appear, including sour cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, floral notes of dried red flowers and aromatic herbs, including rosemary, then shifting to spicy hints of pepper and coffee. On the palate, it is soft, slender, and smooth, characterized by a nice drinkability, at times savory, and by a pleasant and well-integrated tannin. This wine from the Pievalta winery is a straightforward, agile, and balanced red that fully represents the characteristics of its territory of origin.
