The Carignano from Sulcis "Is Arenas" by Sardus Pater is a full-bodied and intense red wine, soft and enveloping, aged for 10 months in barriques. Elegant fruity notes, herbs, and licorice stand out from a warm, silky, and consistent aromatic weave, with solid tannins.

Is Arenas responds to the project of enhancing the Carignano grape variety, carried out for years by the Sardus Pater winery, one of the most prolific cooperatives in Italy, which today has 200 members and a vineyard heritage divided between brand new plants and historic ungrafted plots, planted almost a hundred years ago, in the pre-phylloxera era. The setting is that of the island of Sant'Antioco, a picturesque strip of land in the South-West of Sardinia, which hosts in its sandy soils, among the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub, a vineyard heritage among the most beautiful in Italy, with a clear prevalence of the rows of Carignano from which Is Arenas comes.

The recent decision made by Sardus Pater to entrust the technical management in the winery to the famous oenologist Riccardo Cottarella has allowed for the achievement of an extremely high qualitative level, with the development of a wide range, astonishing for stylistic correctness and fidelity to the authentic style of the territory.

grape variety, entrusted to a wise aging in wood of medium duration, capable over time of capturing the attention of the most important industry guides, until its actual consecration as a wine of great reliability, vintage after vintage.
