The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo "Chronicon" by Zaccagnini is part of a category of identity rosés from Abruzzo. The Abruzzese historically called it 'Rosso' and indeed the typical color of this wine is very intense. With great minerality, in addition to red fruits on the nose, there is a slight sensation of saltiness derived from the proximity to the Adriatic. It also stands out for its freshness, which guarantees a certain evolutionary capacity.

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo “Chronicon” from the Zaccagnini winery is a great wine of tradition, which has managed to remain true to its typical characteristics. Despite the prevailing fashion of light, delicate, and very pale Provençal rosés, Cerasuolo has not betrayed its origins and still proudly presents its strong color and richness, which comes from a generous grape in color and aromas like Montepulciano. It is a rosé with a clear gastronomic vocation, which pairs very well with platters of flavorful cured meats, pasta dishes with tomato, fish soups, and white meats.

“Chronicon” is the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo produced by one of the most important and famous wineries in the region. The Zaccagnini estate has about 300 hectares of vineyards and represents a benchmark for Abruzzese wine. Despite its size, it continues to produce wines that faithfully reflect the characteristics of the terroir. The Montepulciano grapes come from different company vineyards, cultivated partly according to the traditional Abruzzese pergola and partly on trellises, on medium-textured soils, predominantly clayey.spalliera, on medium-textured soils, predominantly clay in nature. The harvest takes place slightly early to preserve greater freshness, necessary for making a rosé. The grapes are gently pressed and the must is cooled to 0 °C for a week. This is followed by white winemaking with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine matures on the fine lees for several months.

The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo "Chronicon" wine, from the Abruzzo winery Zaccagnini, perfectly illustrates the typical character of this great rosé wine from our tradition. It presents itself with a bright intense pink color with brilliant reflections. Rich and fragrant, it expresses aromas reminiscent of ripe cherry, red currant, wild strawberries, raspberry, pomegranate, and citrus hints. With good structure, it has a pleasantly juicy and crunchy sip, with ripe and expressive fruity aromas and a vinous background. The finish is harmonious and balanced, fresh and with good taste persistence.
