The Champagne Brut Millesimé by Charles Heidsieck is one of the most prestigious labels of the historic Maison in Reims. Produced with a cuvée of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of the most famous and renowned crus of the region, it is a Champagne of great aromatic richness, combined with a pleasant mineral freshness. The long aging process on the lees, which sees the bottles resting for nine years in the ancient chalk caves dug underground, contributes to giving a complexity and gustatory depth that only great labels can offer.
The Brut Millesimé Charles Heidsieck is made by one of the oldest Maisons in Reims. Founded back in 1851, it has managed to maintain its reputation over the centuries, always proposing classic Champagnes, with impeccable taste, based on elegance, harmony, and richness of aromas. The style of the Maison is based on vinification only in steel, carrying out malolactic fermentation and long aging on the lees inside the famous Crayères, the caves from the 3rd century B.C. dug in chalk: true and cathedrals of Champagne, which extend for over 8 kilometers. The grapes are of absolute excellence and come from the renowned crus of: Ay, Verzy, Tauxières, Rilly, Avernais, Louvois, and Ambonnay for the Pinot Noir and from Le-Mesnil, Oger, and Vertus for the Chardonnay. After soft pressing, fermentation in steel takes place. The vins clairs rest in steel for a few months before proceeding to the final blending. The second fermentation occurs according to the Champenoise Method and the bottles rest sur lattes for 9 years before proceeding to the dégorgement.
The Millesimé Brut Charles Heidsieck is a Champagne of class, refined and elegant. It is a bottle to open on special occasions and to bring to the table for a full meal, even with important menus. The color is a beautiful bright golden yellow, crossed by a persistent and luminous fine perlage. The bouquet expresses aromas of white flowers, notes of candied citrus peel, dried fruit, toasted bread, and pastry. On the palate, it has a broad and intense entry, aromatically rich and complex, with a sip of great energy and freshness. The finish is of great gustatory persistence.
