The Brut Premier Cru Champagne from Maison Lallement Massonnot is a Vintage Champagne with an elegant and intense profile, produced in the best years to highlight the particular qualities of a single harvest. It is a cuvée composed of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier, which transparently expresses the extraordinary quality of the grapes and a highly regarded terroir. The very long ageing on the lees contributes to a rich aromatic complexity, resulting in a deep, creamy, and enveloping sip. Due to its characteristics, it is a gastronomic champagne that pairs very well with important fish menus or roast and spit-roasted white meats.
The Vintage Brut Premier Cru Lallement Massonnot is a Champagne from a family-owned Maison that has been cultivating vines in Bouilly, in the Montagne de Reims area, since the early 1900s. Until the early 1980s, the Maison always sold the grapes to the Courmas cooperative, then decided to start producing Champagne under its own label. This choice was based on the awareness of the high quality of the grapes, sourced from 5 hectares divided into numerous plots, almost all classified as Premier Cru, located in Coulommes-la-Montagne, Pargny-lès-Reims, Saint-Euphrasie, and Gueux. The grapes come from the estate's most renowned Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier vines. Vinification takes place separately for each grape variety and individual plot. Once the fermentation phase is complete, the base wines are aged for several months and blended to create the perfect balance of the cuvée. The second fermentation occurs in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with a resting period sur lattes of at least 60 months before proceeding to disgorgement.
The Brut Premier Cru Lallement Massonnot is a Vintage Champagne dedicated to enthusiasts searching for the uniqueness of each year who can appreciate the subtle nuances of a great cuvée. In the glass, it has a bright and brilliant golden yellow colour, with a very fine and persistent perlage. Intense and rich, it expresses aromas of yellow fruit, ripe citrus, floral nuances, hints of grilled bread, small pastries, dried fruit, and soft spices. Harmonious and suave, it has a broad, aromatically dense palate entry, with a long finish and lively freshness.
