Chardonnay 'Selva della Tesa' Ca' del Bosco 2020

The Curtefranca Chardonnay from the renowned Lombard winery Ca’ del Bosco represents a soft, rich, and precious interpretation of this noble Burgundy white grape variety. It is a label that encapsulates a selection of the best Chardonnay grapes cultivated by the estate, first released with the distant vintage of 1983. This white grape is the quintessential ubiquitous variety, not surprisingly one of the most widespread in the world, capable of providing distinct expressions depending on the territory in which it is grown, while maintaining its precise identity.

Ca’ del Bosco Curtefranca Chardonnay is produced exclusively with grapes from the same variety coming from 6 different vineyards located in the municipalities of Erbusco and Corte Franca. The vines, cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, have an average age of over 30 years. The clusters are hand-harvested, carefully selected, and then subjected to the characteristic washing and drying cycle of Ca’ del Bosco. At this point, the crushing is done in the absence of oxygen and the alcoholic fermentation takes place in small oak barrels aged for at least 3 years. After 9 months of aging in barrique on the fine lees, during which the liquid completes malolactic fermentation, bottling takes place and the wine then rests to refine in glass for an additional 40 months before commercialization.

Ca’ del Bosco's Curtefranca Chardonnay is dressed in bright golden yellow. The aromatic profile is very rich and fruity, defined by notes of peach, exotic white fruit, white flowers, and citrus zest, adorned with deep woody nuances. Full, soft, and enveloping taste development, well balanced by good sapidity and enticing freshness in a lasting finish that is consistent with the nose.
