Chenin Blanc 'Imagine' Du Vin aux Liens 2020

The French wine reality Du Vin aux Liens and Domaine Perrault-Jadaud present the Chenin Blanc ‘Imagine’, a bottle that stands out for its expressive sincerity. The intent of Vanessa Letort, owner of the Du Vin aux Liens project, is to enhance artisanal wineries from Alsace, Loire, and other wine regions by facilitating the connection with the consumer. Among these is Domaine Perrault-Jadaud, a certified organic estate located in the Les Hauts Bois area, within the municipality of Noizay, in the Loire Valley. The colorful label of the Chenin Blanc ‘Imagine’ was designed by the artist Ariel Cortez.

The Chenin Blanc ‘Imagine’ from Du Vin aux Liens and Domaine Perrault-Jadaud is a 100% Chenin Blanc from vines about 35 years old grown under certified organic conditions on sandy and clayey soils dating back to the Miocene. Following the manual harvest, the grapes undergo a direct and gentle pressing, with the resulting must undergoing spontaneous alcoholic fermentation thanks to only indigenous yeasts, without the use of any additives and oenological aid. The slow fermentation process, carried out in glass fiber tanks, lasts for 12 months, during which the wine matures on the fine lees. The liquid is finally bottled without undergoing any filtration and without the addition of sulfites.

In appearance, the white wine from the Loire ‘Imagine’ Chenin Blanc Du Vin aux Liens takes on a bright golden yellow color. Intriguing and complex aromas of peach, apricot, and white flowers overlap on the nose, interspersed with mineral and citrus notes. The tasting, full and broad, shows remarkable richness and vibrant freshness, as well as a long savory and mineral finish. An excellent aging Chenin Blanc, to be paired with elaborate seafood preparations.
