Famous and imposing expression of Tuscany, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Castello di Brolio" is a full-bodied and deep wine, aged for 18 months in new barrels and barriques. Berries, tobacco, aromatic and balsamic herbs, and a rich, round, and persistent sip in an intense tasting experience with great impact!

"Castello di Brolio" is a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, the result of the most meticulous and strict selection of the best grapes Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Petit Verdot. The author of this wine is the Ricasoli 1141 winery, recognized as one of the oldest in Italy, as well as the largest currently present in the Chianti Classico area. Bettino Ricasoli was also the great innovator of Chianti, designing and defining its composition and production. Today, the winery is led by Francesco Ricasoli, Bettino's great-grandson, and spans a property of 1,200 hectares, of which 235 are vineyards. Experimentation and innovation are solid principles of the winery, as are the mission for excellence and the enhancement of the territory. Especially on this last point, the winery has focused heavily, putting itself at the service of a multifaceted terroir that is faithfully illustrated in the wines.

The Chianti Classico "Castello di Brolio" is made from 90% Sangiovese grapes, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. The vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 250 to 450 meters, with a southwest exposure. Already at harvest, the selection made on the bunches is very strict, so much so that, year after year, the quantity of production may vary. What does not change, however, is the quality, a fundamental prerogative of Castello di Brolio. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for about fifteen days. Malolactic fermentation also occurs in the same container. The aging lasts about 21 months in French barriques and tonneaux.

The Gran Selezione of Chianti Classico "Castello di Brolio" is an intense wine, in color, in the taste-olfactory profile, and in personality. It attracts the eye with its deep ruby red hue and opens up, on the nose, in a complex bouquet. Initially, flowers and ripe red fruit pleasantly emerge from the glass, followed by sweet spices and toasted aromas. On the palate, it presents a full structure and silky tannins. It maintains its elegant character in a long and pleasant finish. Barone Ricasoli is a winery that, like the musts in October, is in constant motion: it creates new labels and continually perfects the historic ones. Each wine, in every vintage, is thus a new chapter that continues the oldest winemaking story in Italy.
