The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "CeniPrimo" is part of the Cru collection of the prestigious Tuscan winery Ricasoli. It is one of the flagship labels of the estate, representing the highest expression of pure Sangiovese. The wine is born from the grapes of a single vineyard of particular value, selected for its ability to consistently produce wines of absolutely superior quality each year. Intense and elegant, it showcases the mature and harmonious face of Sangiovese, highlighting its best varietal characteristics, enriched by refined evolutionary notes due to the long aging process in noble woods.
The "CeniPrimo" is a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Ricasoli, originating in one of the most suitable areas of the estate. The CeniPrimo parcel is located in the valley of the Arbia river, in the southernmost part of the estate, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, with a sunny southwest-facing exposure. The vineyard is cultivated on a terracing of ancient fluvial origin, consisting of layers of deposits of silt and clay. The harvest occurs between the end of September and the beginning of October. After destemming, fermentation takes place in conical stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 24-27 °C, with a skin maceration period of about 15 days. The wine matures for 18 months in tonneau, 30% of which are new and the rest second passage, and completes its aging in bottle.
The Gran Selezione "CeniPrimo" is a Chianti Classico from Ricasoli, which enhances the peculiar character of one of the best vineyards in the entire estate. In the glass, it presents a ruby red color with slight garnet reflections. Elegant and complex, it expresses a bouquet characterized by aromas of ripe cherry, sour cherry, small red berry fruits, hints of medicinal herbs, underbrush, leather, nuances of blonde tobacco, soft spices, and woody memories. On the palate, it has a good structure, with mature and evolved tannins, rich and enveloping aromas, leading to a harmonious, persistent, and pleasantly refreshing finish.
