This Chianti Classico ‘Poggio Teo’ from Valiano comes from a cru in Castelnuovo Berardenga, a municipality famous for the finesse of its reds. A small percentage of Merlot enhances the softness of this wine, adding intense fruity hints that blend with floral and spicy notes. On the palate, it is immediately opulent yet fresh, with a soft tannic structure that leads to a savory and mineral finish. Perfect with large roasted wild boar

Chianti Classico 'Poggio Teo' by Valiano - Piccini is a bottle characterised by a taste in balance between opulence and freshness, the result of an accurate vinification process. The property of Fattoria Valiano, one of five estates expertly managed by the Piccini family, extends over no less than 230 hectares, 75 of which are reserved for vineyards, in the prestigious area of Castelnuovo Berardenga, one of the eight communes of Chianti Classico. The origin of the appellation Valiano is to be found in the name of an ancient Roman condottiere, to whom these lands were donated thanks to his war merits.

The 'Poggio Teo' Valiano - Piccini Chianti Classico originates from a blend of Sangiovese (90%) and Merlot (10%) grapes grown in the Castelnuovo Berardenga area according to certified organic farming principles. After harvesting, the grapes are mellowed in steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation with maceration on the skins. This is followed by the ageing phase, which consists of 3 months in barriques and a further 9 months in large casks, in search of the right balance between the woods. The final release takes place after an adequate resting period in the bottle.

The 'Poggio Teo' Chianti Classico di Valiano - Piccini shows a bright garnet red colour with ruby highlights in the glass. The bouquet contains intense hints of cherry, plum and flowers such as violet and lavender, enriched by fascinating hints of black pepper, tobacco and cedar wood. The roundness and opulence on the palate are well balanced by the pleasant freshness and the chiselled tannin, anticipating the savoury and mineral closure rich in iron sensations, capable of evoking the characteristics of the vineyard from which the grapes come.
