Chianti Colli Senesi Torre Alle Tolfe 2022

The Tuscan estate Torre alle Tolfe presents its Chianti Colli Senesi, a pure Sangiovese with an authentic and genuine soul produced just outside the city of Siena. Sustainability and typicity are two of the main values that guide the production of the Torre alle Tolfe winery. The estate, located within a beautiful medieval village, extends over about one hundred hectares, of which 13 are reserved for vines and the remaining part dedicated to olive groves, woods, and fields cultivated with cereals and legumes. The name of this production reality comes from Tolfo dei Gricci, one of Charlemagne's knights, who in the 8th century built a watchtower for the defense of Siena.

The Chianti Colli Senesi from Torre alle Tolfe is a 100% Sangiovese from vines planted on hilly soils mainly composed of sandstone, with abundant presence of marine fossils. The plants also benefit from the breezy climate, the altitude of about 330 meters above sea level, and the organic management of the vineyards. After manual harvesting, the grapes are transferred to the winery and fermented in vitrified cement tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, without direct temperature control. The subsequent maturation phase always takes place in cement and lasts for a few months before the final bottling.

The color of Chianti Colli Senesi Torre alle Tolfe is intense crimson red. Fruity hints of plum, cherry, and berries define the olfactory profile along with more complex notes of spices like pepper and cinnamon. The tasting is soft and deep, equipped with firm tannins, pleasant freshness, and great persistence. The finish emphasizes crunchy fruity sensations.
