The Cirò Rosso Reserve by Scala is a warm, round, and Mediterranean red wine made from Magliocco grapes. On the nose, it recalls Mediterranean scrub, sweet spices, hints of red fruit in jelly, and marine breezes. The sip is rich, flavorful, and generous, with intense warmth and a balsamic finish.

Gaglioppo and the terroir. The sunny climate, always ventilated and mitigated by sea breezes, allows for the harvest of healthy and well-ripened grapes. The vineyards are cultivated on clay-rich soils, rich in sands, and are managed with great agronomic care, always seeking to preserve the varietal character. The vinifications are also very respectful of a delicate grape like Gaglioppo, which, if vinified gently, can give rise to reds of great finesse

The Rosso Classico Superiore Riserva is a Cirò produced by the Scala winery with grapes coming from a plot of 3 hectares located in Cirò Marina at about 200-250 meters above sea level. The fermentation takes place with a long maceration on the skins. The wine then undergoes maturation in two phases, for 12-16 months in cement tanks and for another 6-12 months in barriques. The color is bright and intense ruby red. On the nose, it expresses aromas of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, aromas of small red berry fruits, hints of licorice root, balsamic and iodized notes. On the palate, it has a medium structure, with well-integrated tannins to the body of the wine, multifaceted aromas, and a intensely balsamic finish. A perfect label to get to know the authentic face of this historic Calabrian grape.
