Tomassetti's "Corno" is a red wine made from the common grapes of the Marche region, a wine that is powerful and full-bodied but retains a great freshness. The winery run by the Tomassetti brothers works sustainably to express the terroir of this part of Italy to its best. To the nose it is complex, with notes of plums, cherries, herbs and sweet spices, with a touch of coffee on the finish. To the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with soft, moderate tannins. Ideal with meat dishes, perfect in territorial pairings with 'vincisgrassi'.

The young wine-producing reality from Marche, Tomassetti, introduces the red wine 'Corno', a full and rich expression of the Senigallia territory. It is a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese, the two most cultivated black grape varieties in Marche, often assembled to create red wines of great structure and expressive breadth, as is the case with 'Corno'.

Tomassetti 'Corno' is produced through a blend of Montepulciano (70%) and Sangiovese (30%) from vines over 50 years old rooted in clay-limestone soils. The vines, cultivated following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, are exposed to the southeast and are located at an altitude of 110 meters above sea level. Once the grapes have reached the ideal ripening stage, manual harvesting takes place in boxes, and the bunches are then destemmed and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. In these winemaking containers, alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts and the liquid remains in contact with the skins for 7 days at a controlled temperature of 28 °C. Subsequently, the Sangiovese mass is aged for a year in cement tanks, while the Montepulciano matures for 12 months but in second-passage barriques. This is followed by blending and aging for 6 months in steel and an additional 4 months in bottle before final commercialization.

The 'Corno' from the Tomassetti winery is dark ruby red in color. The nose recalls hints of dried plum, cherry jam, and dried thyme that blend with deep notes of licorice and coffee. On the palate, it is intense, warm, and full-bodied, balanced by moderate tannic structure and a good fresh-salty component.
