The Cremant de Loire Brut Nature "Physis" from the Bodet-Herold winery is a fresh and balanced sparkling wine produced in the Loire region. 'Physis' means 'nature as harmonic order' and reflects the production philosophy of Bodet-Herold, aimed at telling and expressing the terroir at its best, respecting nature and its rhythms. This Cremant de Loire is a wine with a vibrant and mineral sip, characterized by a pleasant citrus vein, which returns to the nose in a wide and fragrant bouquet, where delicate fruity and floral notes stand out, accompanied by nuances of toasted hazelnut and marine memories

With its sharp and creamy taste at the same time, the Cremant de Loire Brut Nature ‘Physis’ from the wine estate Bodet – Herold represents a more than valid alternative to Champagne. The Bodet – Herold project was born in 2016 in Montreuil-Bellay, a few kilometers south of the town of Saumur, as a micro-négociant that led to the first Cremant de Loire ‘Physis’ with the 2017 harvest. The name ‘Physis’ represents nature and derives from the homonymous concept developed by pre-Socratic philosophers.

Bodet – Herold Cremant de Loire Brut Nature ‘Physis’ consists of a solid base of Chenin Blanc to which 10% of Grolleau vinified in white is added, varieties grown according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The Chenin Blanc comes from soils rich in green gypsum of the Turonian while the Grolleau is cultivated on Cenomanian marls. Following the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed whole, separating the must flower derived from the firstpressing from that of the fine pressing. The alcoholic fermentation is entrusted to indigenous yeasts and takes place in stainless steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation. In spring, after a few months of maturation, the sparkling base is bottled for the second fermentation according to the Classic Method, with at least 30 months of aging on the lees in glass, after which the degorgement and dosage Extra Brut are carried out.

The Cremant de Loire ‘Physis’ Brut Nature by Bodet – Herold is a bright straw yellow color with fine perlage. Aromas of white-fleshed fruit, citrus zest, and wildflowers characterize the olfactory profile along with delicate perceptions of dried fruit and slight mineral notes. Fresh and balanced tasting, with creamy effervescence that enhances the pleasant finish reminiscent of marine and citrus sensations.
