Cascina Boccaccio's "Nonno Rucchein" Dolcetto di Ovada Riserva is made from the variety of the same name processed in purity. The vineyards were planted in the 1980s on clay and limestone soil in the commune of Tagliolo Monferrato, at an altitude of 300 metres. Following manual harvesting, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, for a duration varying from 14 to 21 days, with 2 weeks of maceration on the skins. Ageing for 24 months takes place in 10 hl Slavonian oak casks. Once bottled, the wine rests for 6 months before release.
The Dolcetto di Ovada Riserva Nonno Rucchein Cascina Boccaccio expresses a ruby red colour with garnet hues. Intense aromas on the nose, evoking notes of ripe wild berries, black cherry and cocoa, combined with bucolic hints of earth.
