The Etna Rosso "Dea Vulcano" is a fresh and fine red wine that originates at 750 meters above sea level on volcanic soils on the northern slope of Etna. After aging for 14 months in cement tanks and partially in wooden barrels, it reveals a fragrant, mineral, and subtle profile, with aromas of violet, berries, licorice, and hints of spices.

Etna Rosso “Dea Vulcano” from the famous Sicilian winery Donnafugata is a fragrant, fresh, and fruity red, with a pleasantly simple and immediate character. It is a young wine, to be enjoyed for its fruit, to capture all the aromatic richness of grapes of excellent quality.  It is the ideal bottle to approach the complex world of Etna wines and to begin to understand their fundamental characteristics. Donnafugata owns estates in the most prestigious areas of Sicily and manages a property of 35 hectares on Etna, with vineyards in six different contrade: Montelaguardia, Statella, Camporè, and Calderara in the municipality of Randazzo, Marchesa and Verzella in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. Faithful to the traditions of the territory, it cultivates the classic varieties of Etna: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Carricante.

“Dea Vulcano” is an Etna Rosso from Donnafugata produced with Nerello Mascalese grapes and a small part of Nerello Cappuccio, which come from different vineyards cultivated as bush vines, located on the northern slope of Etna, between Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia at an altitude between 700 and 750 meters above sea level. The soils are of volcanic origin, quite deep and rich in minerals, with a loose and sandy texture. The climate is cool, with significant temperature variations, both between seasons and between day and night temperatures. The harvest takes place in the first half of October, with manual collection of the best bunches, which are then further selected on the vibrating table before vinification. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 °C, with a brief maceration on the skins of about 8-10 days. The wine matures for 14 months in cement tanks and partly in second and third passage French oak barriques, and then completes aging with 10 months in bottle.

DonnaFugata's Etna Rosso “Dea Vulcano” is the pure and direct expression of the great wines of Etna, in its most youthful and simple version, agile and smooth. It presents itself in the glass with a light ruby red color, bright and almost transparent. The bouquet
