Organic and biodynamicThe Frappato by Baglio di Pianetto is an expressive and pleasant red wine from Sicily, vinified only in steel. It has a complex aromatic profile, with sensations of red flowers, cherries, balsamic herbs, and wild spices. The taste is refreshing, delicate, savory, and harmonious, with lively tannins.
The Frappato from Baglio di Pianetto is a red with a fresh, graceful, and gentle profile. The nose is indeed fragrant, characterized by a bouquet of varied aromas, while on the palate flows an energetic sip, always in motion, telling a story with a refreshing savory soul, seasoned by a tannic structure that makes the tasting quite "agile". An extremely versatile label in the kitchen, to be paired even with fish-based dishes, such as a nice lightly seared Sicilian red tuna fillet or with a tasty and typical pasta with sardines.
The Frappato Baglio di Pianetto wine comes from those parcels cultivated around Noto, within the Contrada Baroni. The vines grow using the counter-espalier system, rooting in a medium-textured terroir, tending towards clay and limestone. The manual harvest takes place during the month of September, and after destemming the bunches, a soft pressing follows. The fermentation of the must occurs in stainless steel tanks, macerating on the skins. The final aging takes place first for 14 months in steel, and then, once the bottling phase is completed, for another 3 months directly in glass.
The Baglio di Pianetto Frappato presents itself in the glass with a typically ruby color, endowed with a beautiful brightness. The range of notes that envelops the nose tells of floral and spicy notes, enriched by fruity hints and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, balanced, with a sip where a fresh and savory vein stands out, fueled by a snappy and dynamic tannin. Quality and price come together in this bottle signed by Baglio di Pianetto, a reality that stands out for its excellent ability to present those varietals that, more than others, tell the roots of Sicilian viticulture.
