Frappato “Bell’Assai” is a fresh, fragrant and easy drinking red wine from the Vittoria area, in the soth-east of Sicily. It expresses perfumes of roses, violets and small red fruits. The taste is clean, dynamic, smooth and pleasant, with very fine tannins. Great with savory fish dishes
Frappato "Bell'assai" is a Sicilian red wine characterised by a straightforward and refreshing sip and a bouquet of fragrant aromas on the nose, where floral notes play the leading role. A bottle that comes from a great Sicilian grape variety, Frappato, cultivated by Donnafugata in plots located near Vittoria, one of the four areas on the island where the winery's vineyards are concentrated. A label in which lightness and drinkability go hand in hand, merging into a classic, round and harmonious structure.
This 'Bell'Assai' is a Frappato made from the Sicilian red grape variety carrying the same name. An indigenous variety that Donnafugata cultivates in the vineyards surrounding Acate, a small municipality located in south-eastern Sicily, on soils composed mainly of sand. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest to ensure only the best berries, ferment alcoholically in steel, macerating on the skins for about 8-9 days. This is followed by ageing, which takes place in steel for 4 months, at the end of which the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.
The 'Bell'Assai' wine is a Frappato characterised by a beautiful, luminous colour reminiscent of ruby red. The nose is neat and clean, presenting refreshing notes of flowers and small red fruits. On the palate, it is light-bodied, drinkable and flowing, with a sip marked by a subtle tannic texture. An immediately comprehensible, straightforward red, which is a very good companion when you don't know what bottle to put on the table: it is in fact very versatile in the kitchen, and goes well with various preparations and recipes, including fish.
