Gewurztraminer "Maceration" by Melanie Pfister is an orange wine of great honesty and freshness made in the Alsace region. It has aromas of candied orange, citrus peels, sweet spices, and a pleasant mineral sensation. The sip is straightforward, direct, and soft, with a pleasant tannic grip and excellent freshness.

The white wine macerated Melanie Pfister Gewurztraminer ‘Macération’ impresses with its vibrant energy, a reflection of the dynamic personality of the talented Mélanie. This young winemaker represents the eighth generation at the helm of the family Domaine, founded back in 1780 in the small Alsatian village of Dahlenheim, not far from Strasbourg. After embracing the principles of organic farming, in 2021 Mélanie converted the estate to biodynamics and is now considered one of the most competent and skilled French women in the wine world, which has long been regarded as an exclusive domain of men.

Melanie Pfister ‘Macération’ Gewurztraminer is an expression of the homonymous pink-skinned grape variety whose grapes come from vines cultivated according to the tenets of biodynamic agriculture on clay-limestone soils. After manual harvesting, the bunches are pressed in steel tanks where only indigenous yeasts carry out the alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, with about 15 days of macerationon the skins. Once the fermentation process is complete, the mass matures for several months between steel and old oak barrels before bottling.

Visually, the Alsatian Gewurztraminer ‘Macération’ by Melanie Pfister reveals a radiant bright orange coloration. Intense and varied the bouquet in its aromas of bitter orange jam and candied orange peel, enriched by hints of sweet spices like clove. The entry on the palate is dry and round, with a great tannic structure that anticipates the persistent and pleasantly bitter finish. An orange wine of great personality that can be paired with particularly rich and spicy dishes from Eastern cuisine, such as white meats and flavorful fish with curry.
