Exclusive wineryThe Gewurztraminer "Sur un Fil" from the Du Vin aux Liens winery is a macerated white wine from France, originating from Alsace, perfect for pairing with spicy and hot dishes. It is made with carefully selected pure grapes of the same name and a whole bunch maceration of 14 days, the aging proceeds for 10 months in wood. An intense nose and a characterful sip will win you over in no time.
The ‘Sur un Fil’ Gewurztraminer Du Vin aux Liens is an Alsatian orange wine with a quirky and generous personality, the result of the collaboration between Vanessa Letort of the wine project Du Vin aux Liens and producer Yannick Meckert. Yannick Meckert's small winery is located in Rosheim, an area where the winemaker manages 4 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards. Yannick has traveled the world collecting wine experiences in California, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and various European countries, even including an experience in sake production in Japan. Upon returning home, in 2020 he made his first personal vintage embracing a production philosophy in contrast to his family's conventional practices. The illustration on the label, representing balance, is by Julie Wo.
Du Vin aux Liens Gewurztraminer ‘Sur un Fil’ is produced with only Gewürztraminer grapes grown according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The vines are about 30 years old and rest on clay-limestone soils. After manual harvesting, the bunches are vinified whole through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and 14 days of skin maceration with daily punch downs. The subsequent maturation phase takes place in old Burgundy oak barrels, where the liquid rests for 10 months on the fine lees, without topping up. Throughout the entire process, the addition of additives and enological aids, including sulfur, as well as the use of filtration or clarification operations, is banned.
The Gewurztraminer ‘Sur un Fil’ by Du Vin aux Liens and Yannick Meckert is bright orange. Intense, broad, and deep nose, of citrus and floral character, slightly spicy. The richness is confirmed on the palate, where the delicate tannic sensation is accompanied by lively freshness, describing a long and balanced finish.
