The red Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore is one of the most renowned wines of the regional production, boasting very ancient roots. It is said that even Federico Barbarossa, who settled in the castle of Morro d'Alba during the siege of Ancona, was a great admirer of it. Strong with this history, Velenosi, a winery that offers a brilliant overview of Marche wines, creates a version with an elegant and full-bodied structure, where the aromas of berries dominate the nose. A wine of great personality and refinement, that strikes and stuns, leaving an unforgettable sip in memory.
The Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore is made by the Velenosi winery starting from the homonymous grapes, cultivated in the vineyards located within the municipality of San Marcello, at about 100-150 meters above sea level. We are in a territory mainly of clayey origin, where the vines grow with the spurred cordon system. The clusters, usually harvested in September, are traditionally vinified, remaining on the skins for 20 days and fermenting in steel containers at a controlled temperature of about 20 degrees. The aging takes place in steel, where the wine remains to mature for a few months before being bottled and marketed.
This Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore presents itself visually with a ruby red color, characterized by reflections tending towards purple. On the nose, deep and intense aromas are perceived, where the small forest fruits alternate with more floral notes, dominated by dog rose and violet. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round and enveloping, with a sip in perfect taste-olfactory balance. A great label signed by Velenosi, which reaches truly important qualitative peaks.
