LAMBRUSCO 'PHERMENTO' ERMETE MEDICI DESCRIPTION

Ermete Medici's "Phermento" Lambrusco is a sparkling wine with a simple, easy-drinking profile. The winery chooses to produce it using the bottle refermentation method, so it's not surprising if, at times, the colour of the Lambrusco appears slightly cloudier in the glass. This characteristic is due to the presence of yeasts, which are responsible for the fermentation in the bottle and also contribute to a bouquet on the nose that recalls them. This is yet another gem created by a winery that has elevated Lambrusco to unimaginable quality levels, helping to shine the spotlight of both national and international critics on a type too often discredited and considered "inferior."

Ermete Medici's "Phermento" is made from Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes grown with the spurred cordon method in the vineyards surrounding the Modena area. More precisely, we find ourselves in the Soliera area, where the subsoil is predominantly sandy. After an initial fermentation in steel, it undergoes refermentation directly in the bottle, remaining on the lees for at least 4 months before being released onto the market.

The "Phermento" Lambrusco by Ermete Medici moves in the glass with a typically cherry-red colour, characterized by a fragrant and delicate foam, from which a slightly cloudy hue emerges from the presence of the yeast still in the bottle. The nose is fragrant, orchestrated on different fruity tones enriched with a slight hint of bread crust and pastry. On the palate, it has a slim body, lively thanks to a fresh and vibrant sip, highlighting a fruity taste. It's a label perfect for when you want to organize a jovial and convivial aperitif: the important thing is to have several bottles on hand!
