Lugana Monte del Frà 2025
The Lugana from Monte del Frà is a fragrant white wine, aged for 6 months on the lees in steel. It presents itself with a yellow color with greenish reflections, emanating sensations of wildflowers, almonds, and still unripe fruit. Very savory and mineral on the palate, it expresses freshness with a finish of almond notes.
The Lugana Monte del Frà is a white fruity and fragrant wine, originating from the beautiful area south of Lake Garda. Its profile is characterized by delicate floral notes and fruity aromas, the taste is pleasantly harmonious, fresh, and savory. It is vinified only in steel and produced with the Turbiana or Trebbiano di Lugana grape. DNA analysis has revealed that Turbiana, Trebbiano di Soave, and Verdicchio are actually three different clones of the same grape variety, which have differentiated over time and express different wines, also in relation to the characteristics of the terroirs in which they are grown.
The white Lugana Monte del Frà comes from vineyards cultivated in the municipalities of Peschiera del Garda, in the southeast area of Lake Garda. An area that enjoys an almost Mediterranean climate, influenced by the mild breezes of the large Garda basin. The vines are located at an altitude of about 100/150 meters above sea level, on ancient morainic soils, of limestone origin and rich in gravel and skeleton. The vines have been planted with a density of 4000/4500 vines per hectare, with a yield of less than 2 kilograms of grapes per plant. Once the harvest is completed, the grapes are subjected to a soft pressing and the free-run must ferments in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After six months of maturation on the lees in steel, the wine is bottled and completes its aging with a few months in the cellar before being put on the market.
The Lugana Monte del Frà wine captivates with its elegance and freshness. The aging only in steel preserves and enhances the varietal profile of the grape, giving a bouquet with rich and expressive fruit. In the glass, it presents a straw yellow color, with slight greenish reflections. On the nose, it opens up to aromas of orange blossom, wildflowers, white fruit, and fragrant almond. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, with a fruity mid-palate that extends towards a fresh and savory finish of good persistence.
