The Malbec from El Enemigo is a full-bodied, material, and tannic red wine from the Mendoza region, a key production area in Argentina. It is vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged in old oak barrels for about a year. It takes on an austere, intense, and determined profile, marked by a nice tannin and a bouquet of violets, dark fruit, licorice, cocoa, and spicy hints.

The Malbec El Enemigo is a great Argentine red. It pays homage to this ancient grape variety originating from the southwest of France, which has found a true second home in these lands. Favorable climate and suitable soils have enhanced its pleasant fruity character, natural richness and aromatic concentration, elegance and harmony. Today, Malbec has rightly become the ambassador of Argentine wines in the world, and particularly the area of Mendoza represents one of its shining examples. A red absolutely to try, perfect for pairing with grilled or spit-roasted meat.

The wine Malbec El Enemigo is the result of a project that from the very beginning decided to focus on quality. The winery is managed by Adriana Catena, from one of the most famous Argentine families in the wine world, and her husband Alejandro Vigil, a successful winemaker, who since 2002 has also overseen the production of wines from Bodega Catena Zapata. The estate is located in Luján de Cuyo, near Mendoza, in one of the most suitable regions in the country for viticulture and homeland of great Malbec. The sunny climate and altitude, which guarantee excellent temperature variations, create the ideal conditions for ripening red grape varieties. The cuvée is made with Malbec grapes from the company vineyards of Guatallary and Tupungato, located at over 1400 meters above sea level, on calcareous-sandy and rocky soils. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature, with indigenous yeasts and a maceration time on the skins of about a month. The wine matures for 12 months in old hundred-year-old oak barrels, which do not impart wood aromas to the wine.

The red Malbec El Enemigo is the great wine of tradition, vinified and aged according to the oldest customs of the territory. It perfectly expresses the integrity of the aromatic profile of the grape variety and is the perfect bottle to know its authentic face. It presents itself with a deep ruby red color, with slight garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers a wide and rich bouquet, with notes of wild blackberry, red plum, small dark berries, hints of bitter cocoa, leather and soft spices. Of good structure, it has an important tannic texture well integrated with a dense and expressive fruit, which leads to a harmonious and very persistent finish, returning to spicy sensations.
