ArtisanalThe Malvasco Le Anfore by Elena Casadei is a passito wine made from Malvasia and Nasco grapes, partially dried on the vines and vinified in amphora. It presents an intense amber color and intense aromas of honey and candied fruit. On the palate, sweetness and freshness blend, recalling the aromatic profile. Wine made as it once was with artisanal methods
The “Malvasco” Le Anfore di Elena Casadei is a seductive and complex passito, the surgical fusion of sweetness and freshness. The Olianas winery is a well-established winemaking reality in the Sardinian territory, more precisely in Sarcidano, a splendid area where human practices and natural rhythms have always coincided. Despite the ''young'' age of the winery, born from the meeting between Stefano Casadei, a Tuscan producer, and Artemio Olianas, the direction has always been clear and decisive, that is to produce liquids that respect the territory and tell faithfully about an area still little frequented by wine enthusiasts. To achieve this goal, it was decided to adopt a bio-integral philosophy, preserving the integrity and vitality of the soil and using biodynamic practices and renewable energies. The results are evident: expressive and focused wines that do not give up elegance and drinkability, always supported by an adequate supply of freshness and sapidity. Even in the case of sweet wines, like this one.
Le Anfore “Malvasco” is obtained from a blend of Malvasia and Nasco, the latter being a local white grape particularly suited for drying. In the vineyard, as previously mentioned, no chemical or synthetic substances are used, respecting biodiversity and the life of soil and plants. In the case of this wine, the grapes partially dry on the vine and on racks, and after fermentation, the liquid ages in terracotta amphorae for at least 5 months.
Casadei “Malvasco” slowly fills the glass with its dense, intense amber hue. The nose is broad and luscious, featuring hints of apricot, candied orange, white chocolate, and orange blossom. The taste is undoubtedly sweet and filling, perfectly balanced by a measured contribution of salt and freshness, ensuring that the wine is never cloying, but rather invites another sip. A sure hit.
