The Malvasia delle Lipari Passita by Hauner is a sweet passito wine typical of the Aeolian Islands. It exudes complex and articulated aromas of aromatic herbs, nougat, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is full, sweet, and seductive, but also fresh and marine, with aromatic returns of honey and hazelnuts.

The Malvasia delle Lipari from the Hauner winery is a sweet, fresh, and aromatic passito wine produced in Lingua on the island of Salina, part of the Aeolian archipelago in Sicily. This label is made from almost pure Malvasia di Lipari grapes, plus a small percentage of Corinto Nero from vineyards with slopes between 20 and 35 percent located between 50 and 100 meters in altitude. The vines are trained on trellises using a modified Guyot method on volcanic soils characterized by calcareous soils rich in organic substances and minerals. The winery is a family-run business, owner of about 20 hectares of vineyards, founded forty years ago by the Brescia designer Carlo Hauner, who has made it a reference point for the entire Sicilian and national wine scene.

The Malvasia Passita delle Lipari from Hauner is produced with carefully selected grapes that are hand-harvested late, at the moment of their full ripeness. The bunches are then left to dry on canes in the open air for 15-20 days before being pressed to carry out the alcoholic fermentation, which occurs slowly in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for several weeks. The wine is then racked and aged for at least 18 months in stainless steel containers before being bottled and continuing its maturation in the bottle for an additional six months before being released for sale.

The Malvasia Hauner presents itself with a beautiful bright amber yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe yellow fruit and dried fruit appear, including apricot, dried figs, and dates, floral notes of chamomile and aromatic herbs, spicy hints of sweet spices, and then shifting to nuances of honey and nougat. On the palate, it is full, intense, sweet and seductive, characterized by a velvety softness and great freshness that supports it, giving it stability. This passito from the Hauner winery is an imposing and gentle sweet wine, broad and of great finesse with a pleasantly honeyed and hazelnut finish.
