Mondeuse 'Cote Pelée' Jean Yves Peron 2017

The Mondeuse “Cote Pelée” from Jean Yves Peron is a red wine produced with an interesting variety indigenous to Savoy, capable of yielding elegant and spicy expressions. The grapes are harvested near the winery and processed with artisanal care, in the search for the highest quality. On the nose, subtle hints of black and red fruits express spicy and mineral notes, while the palate surprises with its depth, despite its pleasant delicacy. The sip is crisp and distinctly mineral, with great aromatic persistence

MONDEUSE 'COTE PELÉE' JEAN YVES PERON 2017 DESCRIPTION

Jean-Yves Péron's Mondeuse "Cote Pelée" was born thanks to the passionate and careful work of Jean-Yves, who has been working about two hectares of land in Savoy for the past six years. The business is the result of great experience built up between Bordeaux and New Zealand that has allowed Jean-Yves to give life to a winery that works in complete respect of the natural habitat surrounding the vineyards with respect for the raw material. With the help of two Piedmontese winemakers, today the winery has increased its production for wines of excellent quality.

The vineyards of Jean-Yves Péron's Mondeuse "Cote Pelée" are cultivated following the dictates of biodynamic agriculture, avoiding any synthetic chemicals, herbicides and pesticides that are harmful to the plants; the soil is mainly composed of clay and limestone, an advantageous composition for elegant and structured wines. Viticulture can be defined as heroic, since the rows of vines are placed on steep slopes, a condition that forces only manual labor. In the cellar, fermentation is spontaneous thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts in wood; it ages 12 months in oak before being bottled.

The color of Jean-Yves Péron's Mondeuse "Cote Pelée" has a brilliant ruby red colour. The aromas released on the nose are reminiscent of wild berries such as blackberry and cherry, along with spicy notes of black pepper; on the palate it reveals itself to be intense and deep with a balanced final minerality that entices glass after glass. In pairing it is excellent with stewed red meats and white meats; also ideal with pasta dishes with comforting sauces.

An ideal wine for romantic evenings in front of the fireplace during winter, to enjoy a product that is an ambassador of the great potential of Savoy.

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can easily cellar it for 3-4 years
