Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Torre dei Beati 2022
Organic and biodynamicThe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo by Torre dei Beati is an enveloping and balanced wine, with an excellent quality/price ratio, aged for 12 months in wood. It is soft, full, and enveloping, with well-harmonized notes of sour cherries, berries, and balsamic herbs
The beautiful Abruzzo reality of Torre dei Beati is a young company, founded in 1999, and it spans almost twenty hectares of vineyards inherited from Rocco Galasso, Adriana's father, who is now at the helm of the company together with her husband Fausto. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo represents the company's cru, and Torre dei Beati is able to offer us a truly interesting version of this grape variety.
The lands on which it is cultivated are of calcareous/clay origin, and have always been cultivated using traditional methods, in full respect of the nature surrounding the beautiful estate of Torre dei Beati. This Montepulciano immediately reveals its ability to unleash the typical personality and peculiarities of the Abruzzo territory, of which Torre dei Beati is a proud representative. Deep, of great intensity, endowed with complex fruity aromas and enriched with spicy notes, this Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an excellent wine, perfectly balanced in its tannic structure. What perhaps most deeply affects the quality of this Montepulciano is the management of the vineyard and especially the extreme attention paid during the harvest.
The harvests are always done in a differentiated manner: we try to carefully select the grapes, progressively harvesting them in a staggered fashion across the various plots. This is because each plot has its own soil, its own exposure, and its own characteristics, which are transmitted first to the grapes and subsequently to the wines. All of this makes the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Torre dei Beati an incredibly fascinating wine.
