The Muller Thurgau “Michei” Hofstatter is a fragrant, fresh, and fruity white, originating from the Trentino estate of Maso Michei at over 800 meters above sea level. It is a wine with a slightly aromatic profile, perfect for tasting as an aperitif or with seafood appetizers. The bouquet opens with floral notes and ripe fruity aromas. The sip is harmonious, with juicy fruit, rich, and a finish of balanced freshness.
The Muller Thurgau “Michei” is produced in the new Hofstatter estate, located above Ala, in the Ronchi valley, in a place with still unspoiled nature, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the mountains. Thanks to the high altitude and cool climate, the grapes ripen very slowly, and the significant temperature variations favor the development of very intense and elegant aromatic compounds. These particular pedoclimatic conditions and the light soils, composed of marls, have proven perfect for the cultivation of Muller Thurgau, a white grape variety created towards the end of the 1800s by crossing Riesling Renano with Madeleine.Royale. The grapes are pressed very gently and the must ferments in stainless steel at controlled temperature. Before bottling, the wine matures for a few months in steel, in order to preserve all the aromatic fragrance.
The “Michei” represents a new challenge for Martin Foradori. Alongside the historic production of wines in Alto Adige, there is also production in Trentino, completing and enriching the range of labels that well represent the peculiarities of the territory. In the glass, it presents a bright straw yellow color. The aromas evoke notes of white flowers and fragrant fruit aromas. On the palate, it is intense and rich, with good aromaticity and a very harmonious and balanced sip. The finish is of beautiful persistence and good freshness.
