From our sommeliers

"Naigartèn" is a red wine from Bologna from the local grape Negrettino, aged 12 months in oak barrels. The porfumes are Mediterranean and spicy and invite to a gulp rich of fruity, mineral and pleasantloy rustic aromas. It is a curios wine, perfect with local food

The “Neigartèn” is a genuine red wine produced from an ancient local grape that was first abandoned and then rediscovered in recent years: the Negrettino. The grape variety risked extinction in modern times when Bolognese winemakers focused production on adaptable and modern international varieties, such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Gradizzolo, a winery in the Bolognese hills led by Antonio Ognibene, is one of the first Emilia-Romagna realities committed to recovering this regional heritage, bringing to light, thanks also to modern winemaking techniques, one of the most expressive and typical wines of the local tradition.

The “Neigertèn” is obtained using old production methods to best tell the terroir of the area. In fact, Gradizzolo has a particular respect for Mother Nature: it cultivates the land in the “old way,” with no herbicides or synthetic fertilizers. The plant grows pure and healthy, and in this way, it can express the land to the fullest.of origin. Also in the winery, any chemical form that could in any way hinder the pure and sincere expression of the wine is prohibited. The yeasts are exclusively indigenous, derived from the land, and are the same ones that accompany it in its growth and transform it into wine.

The “Naigartèn” presents itself with a dark ruby red color, slightly veiled, with garnet reflections. The bouquet has a rustic and intriguing complexity, growing exponentially in the glass. Notes of underbrush and Mediterranean spices pave the way for a series of aromas of ripe red fruit and wilted flowers. The sip is soft and of great drinkability, slender, characterized by velvety and dry tannins. It is a wine capable of enhancing local cuisine and that knows how to leave a mark.
