NEGROAMARO 'F' SAN MARZANO 2020 DESCRIPTION

The "F" Negroamaro of San Marzano is a wine produced in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, in the province of Taranto, Puglia. The San Marzano winery was founded in 1962 by 19 winemakers with the aim of producing wines that were the best expression of the Apulian vines. Today, the winery has grown to include around 1200 vine growers, making it a reference point for wine production in the region. The company values respect for tradition and the work of the vine growers who ensure that the plants grow healthy and flourishing every day, as well as modern production techniques that aim for elegance and an authentic taste of the product.

The Negroamaro grapes used in the "F" Negroamaro of San Marzano are grown in a predominantly Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot and humid summers and mild winters never subject to sudden frosts or snowfalls; the influence of sea breezes and constant sunlight ensures excellent ripening of the clusters. Human intervention in the vineyard is calibrated to preserve the best intrinsic characteristics. The grapes are harvested manually, selecting the best plants and clusters, which are placed in small baskets for transport to the cellar. Here, the clusters are destemmed and crushed, and then macerated at low temperature. Later, alcoholic fermentation is started, and the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Visually, the "F" Negroamaro of San Marzano appears as a deep purple red with intense and impenetrable reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of sweet spices, red berry fruits, and cherry compote; in the mouth, it is soft, enveloping, and particularly harmonious with a pronounced tannin that is well-integrated into the wine. It pairs perfectly with red meat dishes cooked on the grill or in stews, game meat, and pasta dishes with important sauces; it is also curious when paired with aged cheeses. This wine is excellent for summer barbecues in the countryside with lifelong friends, enjoying in the glass a product that reveals the most authentic and genuine flavors of the Apulian land and reveals all its intrinsic potential.
