The Negroamaro 'Maru' from Castello Monaci is one of the historic wines of the winery, born to express the identity of Salento's Negroamaro. The grapes, grown on clay and limestone soils, rest briefly in barriques. On the nose, hints of eucalyptus, black fruits, and Mediterranean scrub emerge. The sip is round, mineral, and velvety, with a typically bitter finish. Excellent with stewed red meats, legumes, and traditional Salento first courses.
