"Antica Chiusina" is a Nobile di Montepulciano with a full-bodied, velvety, and persistent character that is aged for at least 18 months in barrique. The taste is decisive, full, rich, and warm, with long persistence, enriched by a bouquet of cherries in spirits, ripe berries, rhubarb, sweet spices, and toasted nuances

The Nobile di Montepulciano “Antica Chiusina” from Fattoria del Cerro is the flagship wine of the winery, the one that best illustrates and describes the excellence of this historic territory of Tuscany. It is a red wine produced with pure Prugnolo Gentile grapes, grown on the hills surrounding the small town of Montepulciano. The selection of the best, ripest, and richest bunches, along with the long aging in wood, allows for the production of a wine with an intense and complex character that expresses rich fruity aromas, spicy notes, toasted hints, and refined evolving aromas.

“Antica Chiusina” Nobile di Montepulciano is an important label from Fattoria del Cerro, a prominent reality within the territory of this corner of Tuscany. The beautiful hilly exposures, the suitable soils and the always breezy climate allow for excellent ripening of the Prugnolo Gentile, which here expresses its best qualities, with a particularly elegant and complex profile. Fattoria del Cerro is part of an important wine group operating in central Italy with several estates. Thanks to this territorial division, it is able to produce great wines with numerous varieties, respecting and enhancing the character of each single terroir.

The wine “Antica Chiusina” from Fattoria del Cerro is a particularly interesting Nobile di Montepulciano, representing an excellence of the territory and a high-quality expression of this famous Tuscan denomination. The grapes come from the best vineyards of the estate, cultivated in the hilly area of Acquaviva di Montepulciano. At the end of the manual harvest, the best bunches are sent for fermentation at a controlled temperature of 26-28 °C, followed by a post-fermentation maceration to complete the extraction of aromas. Before bottling, the wine ages for 12 months in oak barriques. In the glass, it has a rather intense garnet red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of cherry, small red berry fruits, spirit-soaked sour cherries, blackberry fruit jam, spicy notes, aromatic herbs, quinine, and balsamic hints. The taste is rich and structured, with a dense tannic structure well integrated into the body of the wine. The mid-palate is harmonious, complex, and anticipates a balanced and very persistent finish. The noble face of Montepulciano.
