The Orvieto Classico Castello di Titignano” from Tenuta di Salviano is the white wine produced in the castle of the Incisa-Corsini family, built in 937, truly a historic estate. This bucolic reality is located in the river park of Tevere, area of volcanic origin that imparts a unique elegant character to its wines. From the glass, floral hints, yellow fruit

The “Castello di Titignano” is a white wine from Orvieto that grows in the extraordinary Tiber River Park, in Umbria. It takes its name from the ancient Castle that towers over the homonymous village, from which one can enjoy an extraordinary view of Lake Corbara. This wine is made from a blend of different local grape varieties, such as Trebbiano, Grechetto, and Verdello, and one international variety, Sauvignon. The volcanic territory on which the vines grow gives the wine an unmistakable mineral and savory character that defines all expressions of the area. The Tenuta di Salviano, active for centuries in these lands, wants the territory to express itself in the wines, thus it follows asustainable agriculture and minimizes treatments, just as the regulations of the National Park require.

The Orvieto “Castello di Titignano” comes to life on the southern slope of the Lake, where the climate is cooler and the white grape varieties can ripen perfectly. The vines, which are about 20 years old, are rooted in tuff soils, with a good skeletal component, at an altitude that varies between 150 and 500 meters. The harvest begins at the end of August and continues until mid-September. Fermentation takes place in steel at controlled temperature, with aging for about 5-6 months always in steel on the fine lees.

The white wine “Castello di Titignano” takes on a bright straw yellow color, with greenish reflections on the rim. The aromatic bouquet releases notes of hawthorn, white rose, broom, and a clear fruity trail of peach and apricot. The sip is crunchy and juicy, of great delicacy and elegance, with a precious savory and mineral nuance that enriches its complexity. It ends with notes of fresh almond. Ideal to try with fish or cooked vegetable dishes.
