Passito 'Privilegio' is a silky, harmonious dessert wine made from Fiano dell'Irpinia grapes left to dry for 8 weeks in well-ventilated rooms. The rich and persistent notes of apricot in syrup, caramelised dried fruit, dried figs and acacia honey are the prelude to a lingering, soft sip with a perfect balance of sweetness and freshness

The Passito “Privilegio” from the Feudi di San Gregorio winery is a sweet wine from Campania produced in Irpinia, a mountainous area at high altitude, with a cool and rainy climate, which allows for great temperature fluctuations that facilitate the concentration of the primary aromas of the grapes. This label is made from pure Fiano grapes, a semi-aromatic white grape variety native to the region, which are left to overripen on the vine before being placed in small crates in ventilated rooms for drying. The vineyards that give rise to this “Privilegio” are located at about 600 meters above sea level on soils characterized by volcanic origins. The winery, owner of about 300 hectares of vineyards, is one of the most well-known realities in all of southern Italy today, having managed to grow very quickly thanks to a mix of product attention combined with a strong commercial orientation.

The “Privilegio” Passito is produced with carefully selected and hand-harvested grapes generally around mid-October. The bunches are brought into ventilated rooms and stored in small boxes to undergo a drying process of about 8 weeks, after which they are crushed, pressed, and fermented in wooden barriques. At the end of fermentation, the wine ages for about 6-8 months in barriques and for about 12 months in the bottle before being sold.

The Passito "Privilegio" by Feudi di San Gregorio presents itself with a beautiful bright golden yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of stone fruit and candied fruit emerge, including apricot, orange, and ginger, floral notes of white flowers, hints of dried fruit, including hazelnut and almond, honey, and spices like cinnamon, finishing with slight iodine sensations. On the palate, it is rich, soft, and silky but endowed with great freshness and minerality that give a push to the sip, making it not cloying. This wine from the Feudi di San Gregorio winery is a fragrant, sweet, and delicate passito that delights the senses and is enjoyed with great ease.
